NEGOTIATOR, EMPATHY, FORWARD THINKER, COMMUNICATOR, ANALYTICAL
Originally from Upper East Tennessee, Paula has deep ancestral roots in Appalachia dating back more than 300 years. With this grounding in her rich and unique ancestry, Paula possesses a wealth of knowledge with the vast territory of WNC. She loves working with folks to find the perfect home and location, tailored to their specific needs and desires. Paula knows it can be a long-term process to find that special home and has been known by some of her clients as “The Fairy House Mother” for her special finds. Seven acres and a waterfall? — no problem. Two creeks and a totem pole? — she’s got you!
Paula also has over 20 years of commercial expertise, having worked with many small businesses downtown. As a pioneer in Asheville, Paula helped tenants create space for such legendary eateries as Mela East Indian Restaurant and 12 Bones BBQ. She has helped other small businesses throughout the years, including Spirit Tex, Gaia Gifts and Izzy’s Coffee Den. Paula has been the exclusive representative for Tops for Shoes office space for over two decades, as well as Grimes Teich Anderson, Attorneys at Law, for 10(+) years. She continues to serve her landlord clients on an “as needed” basis. With her unique skill set and expertise, Paula is able to help her landlords maintain 100% occupancy. It is her motto that you can’t have a successful landlord without having a successful tenant and vice versa.
Paula has many years of experience working with investors as well. With her expert ability to analyze cash flow and to forecast future investment values, navigating the intricacies of financial logistics is one of her strongest suits & joys! In fact, her young grandson has inherited this same love of math and could count to a million by the 100 thousands by the time he was three years old! Paula is proud to be an actively engaged “Yaya”. Paula enjoyed living in Atlanta from 1988 until 2001. She then moved to the Asheville area to give her 2 daughters a taste of country living, hoping they could enjoy more of “the farm experience” that she had grown up with. Their first trip to the NC Mountain State Fair, her girls spent most of their time milking goats!
Now living in Black Mountain, Paula’s love of community shows in her day-to-day activities. Volunteering has always been a big part of her Tennessee roots (Go Vols!) — but lately, her volunteering has been more directed toward helping with her adorable grandson. They do all kinds of fun things together to enhance his young life at every possible opportunity. Most recently, they visited the Earth to Sky Park Planetarium for the James Webb Telescope show. He has a keen interest in math & science and although the show might have been a little over his head, let’s face it, it was a little over Paula’s head too!
Paula loves working with newcomers to help find the ideal space for their businesses and their homes. With 22 years in the Asheville Real Estate Market, Paula has her finger on the PULSE and can set you at ease in the complicated world of real estate.
